Current mood: ecstatic

I'm not a foodie or anything, but I just have to say...
IT'S MAROC SEASON AND I'M LOVING IT!!! WOOHOO!!

(If there's anyone out there who doesn't know what Marocs are, please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathies.)

Okay, I'll bite. What's a maroc? I googled, but everything came up in French.

You don't know what a maroc is?? Some people call them murocs, because the label looks like it says that...oooohhh, wait a minute. I don't think they sell them in Texas. I seem to remember something about them not being sold in California, Florida and maybe Texas?? I'm not sure about Texas and Florida, but I know for a fact that they don't sell them in California.

Marocs are the most delicious, juiciest, sweetest, most perfect clementines in the world! In fact, they are soooo good, I think it's unfair to group them in the same category as all those other inferior clementines. That's why I refuse to call them clementines--they are not merely clementines and to call them so would be a disgrace. They are MAROCS--a category all their own.

Surely you've seen them in other states???

And now I must stop all this Maroc talk or people might suspect I'm a closet foodie.

No, clementines are a fairly new thing to me that I've only heard about for a few years. I do not know this maroc/muroc of which you speak.

Well, if you ever see them, BUY them and TRY them! I guarantee you, they're THE most delicious citrusy thing known to humankind.

http://www.nationalfinder.com/fruitlabels/M/index-M.htm

I found this, and it seems Maroc/Muroc is a brand name. Somewhere in there it says the Maroc company. But no, I've never heard of a maroc.

I still want some of Els' muscadines. And a bunch of scuppernogs would be nice too.

That's them. Just looking at that beautiful logo makes my mouth water. Mmmmmm. Soooo good.

(That diamond logo is an older one, though. This year's Marocs have a different label. Still, just looking at that diamond logo gave me undeniable pleasure. But, please know--I am really NOT a foodie--not that there's anything wrong with being a foodie, because there isn't, but I wouldn't want to give a false impression.)

LOL! No, I'm really not.

You can't declare me a true foodie, without taking these extenuating circumstances into account:

a) they're only available for a short time, and only in certain parts of the continent
b) I've been deprived of them for a number of years now

If not for the above, I'm sure I wouldn't be all ecstatic right now.
So all things considered, I don't think I qualify for true foodie status. Maybe fake, temporary, situational foodie status. JMHO. :-)
